Moment of Truth For American Democracy
2026 Midterm elections are a test of American Democracy. Will millions of disenchanted voters take their anger to the ballot box and slam the brakes on Donald Trump’s blatant attempt to hijack American democracy, or will there be a tepid protest vote that lets Trump roll on into one-man rule? Two trends are colliding this fall. One is massive grassroots discontent with Trump’s economy, his Iran war, his power grabs. The other is Trump’s plot to rig or steal this year’s elections. And that means even after Election Day, we may not know the final outcome for weeks, because of election lawsuits and legal wars,.
